About the event
Topic: Thru-Hiking and Planning Your Intentional Hiking Practice
The American Long Distance Hiking Association West (ALDHA-West) is an organization of individuals interested in the pursuit of all aspects of long-distance hiking. The annual Ruck is a day-long event designed for all sorts of backpackers (from novice to expert) to prepare themselves for the hiking season. The primary focus is on attendees looking to set out on their first long-distance hike be it on the Camino de Santiago, Pacific Crest, Continental Divide, Timberline, Wonderland, or John Muir Trail.
During the ruck, an Intentional Hiking break-out session will help future hikers plan to add some intention to their hike. For those interested in collecting data or learning about the geology along a certain trail, we will provide tips and guidance to add some purpose, creativity, and thoughtfulness to future trail adventures.
Register for the Ruck through the ALDHA-West website.
